CIRCULATION SERVICES

The function of this services is to track the transactions on borrowing, returning, renewing and reservation of library materials to all registered library patrons. It also handles putting on hold the borrowing privileges and sending reminders who are on overdue loan. Settling library accounts and signing clearance are done here.

REFERENCE SERVICES

The librarian takes the user’s questions, conducts the research, finds appropriate material and presents it to meet the user needs in local governance. The process of referral letter for an inter-LGRC library loan is done here. Current awareness services like informing the patrons about new acquisition is also part of reference services.

TECHNICAL SERVICES

Technical service takes care of the acquisition, cataloging and database management service. Technically, it involves the processing and maintenance of a library’s physical collection. It is often referred to as “the backroom” because the tasks in this area of the library are away from public view. This services handle, creation and maintenance of MARC records in the online catalog, barcoding, call number labelling, covering, security processing, and distribution of materials not only to the proper shelves section but also to LGRRC libraries and DILG Central Office library.

EXTENSION SERVICES

Library services of LGNRC are extended on the following:

1. Conduct library information seminars and forum to LGRRCs.
2. Conduct monitoring and technical assistance to LGRRCs in the development of library services and operations.
3. Conduct resource sharing of knowledge products.
4. Facilitate copyright editing of LGA publications and secure ISBN/ISSN registration.
